“I am the Way”

Preacher:
Passage: John 14:6; Matthew 7:13-14
  • Matthew 7 speaks of two roads-the broad and the narrow. Society, churches, and individuals struggle with these two roads-we are either on the broad or on the narrow.
  • When we are born we start on the broad road. We are then enticed to stay there and celebrate the broad road.
  • Jesus says "I am the Way" John 14:6
  • Do we try to tread both roads at once
  • The Broad Road has an entrance that is wide and many find it. You can do what ever you want; please yourself; believe whatever you want. It is filled with materialism, hatred, unforgiveness, no restrictions, etc. We travel there by default.
  • Each road has a beginning and an ending. One leads to heaven, the other to hell.
  • The Narrow Road-Jesus says I am the way, Jesus is the gate. It requires a change in everything you do. It is hard to take the narrow road. Our desires change because we have met Jesus Christ. We walk with each other. We help each other.
  • 2 roads, 2 crowds, 2 destinations
  • What is God calling me to do-Know what you believe
  • All truth comes from Christ-not the world. The truth of God lasts for eternity.
  • God will empower you; ask Him to fill your life.
  • You can't do it alone; God walks with you on the narrow road.
